Why we don’t offer casual sessions at ACE Martial Arts
At ACE Martial Arts in Sydney, we do not offer casual drop-in sessions and that’s intentional.
Our martial arts classes are built on structure, coaching, and long-term progress. Whether you train in boxing, kickboxing, or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, one thing matters most: consistency.
If you want real results, you need to train regularly.
Why consistency matters in martial arts & boxing training
To improve your skills and fitness, you need regular practice. Training once a week is not enough.
When you only train occasionally, you:
- Forget techniques quickly
- Struggle to build coordination
- Increase your risk of injury
- Make slow progress
Martial arts is a skill. Like any skill, it improves through repetition.
In our boxing classes, kickboxing classes, and BJJ training, your body needs time to adapt. This only happens with consistent training.
Why we recommend training at least twice per week
Our minimum membership starts at two classes per week. This gives you the best chance to improve.
Training 2–3 times per week helps you:
- Learn faster
- Retain techniques
- Build fitness safely
- Gain confidence
It also allows you to follow our structured coaching system.
What happens with casual training?
Casual or drop-in training may seem convenient. But for most people, it leads to poor results.
You spend more time:
- Re-learning old skills
- Feeling behind in class
- Struggling to keep up
This often leads to frustration.
Casual training may work for experienced athletes. But beginners need structure and guidance.
What the science says:
Research supports this approach.
- Motor learning studies show that skills improve through consistent practice.
- The Forgetting Curve shows that without repetition, most skills are lost within days.
- Studies also show that training 2–3 times per week leads to better coordination and long-term progress.
In simple terms: consistency beats intensity.
